Summer Learning Journey - Bonus Activity

I have to choose out of three different beginnings for a story. What happens next? You can use your imagination and create any ending that you want. To earn full points, you must post, at least 8-10 sentences, on your blog.

I looked around the room. Nothing seemed unusual, but then I heard footsteps walking slowly towards my bedroom door. The door handle started to rattle. The door flew open and a mask person was standing in my room. I was really startled and I hid under my blanket. The masked person grabbed hold of me and tried to take me out of my room. I desperately tried to hold on to something but I just couldn't. I then woke up and was so relieved that it was only a dream. I then learnt that I shouldn't watch scary movies that are not for my age.

  1. Kia ora Aminiasi,
My name is Tania and I am a Manaiakalani Outreach Facilitator - I work in lots of different schools with teachers and learners who, like you, are using chromebooks for their learning and blogs to share their learning. I have been emailing with Rachel and she has told me all about The Summer Learning Journey. I thought I would check out some of the blogs and was AMAZED at how much you had already achieved. I especially like your imaginative story. I felt very anxious as I read it and was so pleased when it ended up just being a dream. You are so right about scary movies! I don't even like watching scary movies even though I'm an adult - they make me scared to go to sleep! Keep up the great researching, reading, writing, creating and sharing. Enjoy your summer holiday.

  4. What an awesome short story AJ! You had me holding my breath, waiting to see how the story ended. Especially when someone broke into your room. I was pretty glad to find out it was only a dream after all! What movie had you been watching?

I love watching scary movies, but if I watch them right before bed I always end up having bad dreams afterwards. Sometimes a good idea is to watch something funny after a scary movie, that way you can sleep a bit easier!

Keep up the great blogging :-)

  5. Hi AJ, great work on that 8-10 sentence writing. It has a good moral/coda you had is great for those who don't like having nightmares and for younger audiences who are watching things that are not for their age. Keep up the great work!
