Winter Learning Journey - Day 4 Activity 1

For this activity, I had to read about a place called Farewell Spit. It was in the news recently where some whales accidentally swam into the spit and got stuck on the beach. They couldn’t swim back out to the sea because the water was to shallow. The local people tried their best to save them, but sadly many of them died. I have to describe what the local people did to try and save the whales. The locals did these things:
  • Put cloths and towels on them.
  • They grab their chilly bins, water bottles, cooking pots and mixing bowls to fill with water to keep the whales wet.
  • Pour buckets of water on them.

  1. Hey Aj,
Its nice to see you blog more challenges everyday, but besides that it was truly horrible to what happen to these poor whales. Great work make sure to update your blog during the winter holidays :D

  2. Hi Aj,

Your facts are very interesting, and its sad to see the whales dying.

  3. Hi AJ,
It's really good seeing you stall participating in the Winter Learning Journey. I am so glad that the people in the local community helped the whales. It's really nice of the people. Great work keep it up!

  4. Hey AJ
It's sad to hear that so many whales died. Imagine dying because you were out of your natural habitat and you didn't have any/enough water to keep you alive. Keep up the great work AJ.

  5. Bula AJ,
I agree with Daniel that it is really sad to hear whales dieing from people fishing them by accident. But it is really good to hear that the Local people tried to save them.
    Great work.

  6. Hi AJ. It is sad to hear Whales dying from things like this. Great blogpost. I like how you've added a colon and bullet points to make your list clear. Keep up the great work.

  7. Hi AJ,
I like that you listed the three things that the local people did to try save the whales. Well Done!

  8. Hi AJ!

It sounds like the whales just need to be kept super wet by gathering water with anything you can find! I really admire all the people that went to help the whales. Do you think you would help if you could??
