Screencastify - Finding Fractions Of An Amount

Last week Mrs Grant came to LS2 to teach us how to create a screencastify. For this we firstly had to write our scripts and make sure we had all the tabs we needed open. Next we clicked on the screencastify extension and clicked record. I had to make sure I was speaking loud and clear. I then listened to my recording to see if it was good. I like using screencastify because it is a different way of showing my learning.

Fraction DLO

For maths this week we have been learning how to divide fractions. We learnt a new strategy. It is called cross multiplication. We used this strategy to solve the maths word problems that we were working on. We then had to chose question A, B, C, D or E from problem 4.

Maths DLO

Today for maths I had to solve a maths word problem. There were three questions to the word problem. Once solved the word problem we had to create a DLO on the third question and how we solved it. I had to use my addition and multiplication skills.

Ordering Fractions

Today for maths, we played a warm up game about ordering fractions. After that we did a test about ordering fractions. The test was a little bit harder than the warm up game. I managed to get all of the questions correct which was really good.

Clothing Spree

Today for maths Daniel and I completed our DLO about the clothing spree questions we have been working on. We used our fraction and percentage skills to fin out the price with the discount on.

Problem Solving

Today I worked together with Zane to create a DLO about the problem solving question we had this week. We both found this question really hard at first but then we figured out how to work out the problem. To solve this problem we used our fraction skills.

Maths - Even More Pizza And Things

Today I have completed my maths DLO. For this activity I had to read a the maths question and then I had to work out the problem. In the question I found a clue to help me solve the question. I had to use my multiplication skills to solve this. 

Fruit Splat

Today for maths I played a maths game called Fruit Splat. To play there will be two numbers showing. I then had to click the greatest common factor which if on one of the fruit. Every time you get one correct you get points. At the end you can submit your score and see what you came. I managed to come third.

Ordering Decimals

Today for maths I was on a maths game called Ordering Decimals. In the game there is three balloons that float up and on each one there is a decimal. I had to click on each balloon in order from smallest to biggest before all three balloons reach the top.

E-ako Maths

During maths today I was on E-ako maths. I worked on a couple of activities. One of the activities was about fractions. I was really focused and managed to get all of the questions correct.

E-ako Maths

Today in LS2, Group B were doing E-ako maths. E-ako maths is a fun maths site were you have to complete different activities. Every time you get a equation or question correct you earn points.

Ratio DLO

This is my DLO that I have created with my partners Thomas and Sylis about ratios. In this DLO we have used examples of ratios and we have written the definition of a ratio.

Measurement Flight

Today LS2 participated in a paper plane battle. In our groups we had to see who is the best paper plane thrower. We also had to design a plane for our group. In my group I was chosen to throw the paper plane for our group. All the people who were chosen to throw had three throws. When all the people threw the planes we found out that Thomas threw the plane the furthest. Then Mrs Anderson said the people who threw the planes can have one more throw but she said to upon up the windows and doors. Once again Thomas threw it the furthest but I threw it the second furthest.

Paper Planes Measurement Challenge

Yesterday for maths, LS2 had a challenge. We had to work in our groups that we were put in and make paper planes. When we finished creating them we had to throw our paper plane and see who threw it the longest. This was an exciting activity and everyone had fun.

Maths Word Problems

For maths we had to solve some  multiplication word problems. We had to find the equation in the word problems. There were a couple of trick questions. I like how there were trick questions because they challenged me. Overall I got six out of seven questions correct.

Maths Quizzes

Today in LS2 we had a maths quiz competition. We went on a online website called Quizzes.com. We competed against each other and one of out teachers. We did a few quizzes which were easy. Then we did one quiz which I had a little bit of trouble on. If you answer the question fast you get more points but if you take a little bit long you get less points.

Maths Session

Today during maths time, Ms Naicker's group started on a basic facts quiz with 30 questions. I did really well and I got 30 out of 30 questions right. We then played an online maths game called Hit The Button. We can choose which part of maths we would like to test ourselves in. We all did mixed division. My highest score was 29 out of 29. After that we got back out our maths back and did our decimal word problems. I worked with Daniel on this. Daniel and I managed to finish all of the questions. We then got to start on another decimal word problem activity.

Maths DLO

This is my maths ratio DLO that I made. Before I could make my DLO I had to choose a sheet full of ratio problems and choose one to put on a DLO and solve it.
