After morning tea LS2 went down to the Riverside Sports Club to play Futsal and Tennis. We were split up into two groups. Group A and Group B. I'm in Group B. We started off learning how to play tennis with Neville. I learnt how to bounce and hit the ball. I found it hard at first but it got easier at the end. Next Group B swapped and went to play Futsal with Martin. We were split in the three teams. black, red and white. I was in the red team. We were playing quite good but unfortunately we lost both of our games. I would like to thank Martin and Neville for taking the time to teach us the techniques of Futsal and Tennis.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson, and Ms Kirkpatrick.

Kiwisport
Today the year sevens had their kiwisport session with Mr Ogilvie. To start off we did this exercise game were we had to find a partner and you both have to put your right hand on your right knee. You then need to try and touch your partners knee. If your partner touches you knee you have to do two star jumps. After that we played a similar game but you had to touch your opponents shoulders. After that we played a couple of games of octopus. The last game we played was were there were two teams and one team is the taggers and the other team is the runners. The taggers had to stand in a line and the person next to you needs to be facing the opposite direction. The runners can run around the line or through the line but the taggers can't. The only way the taggers can tag the runners is that you have to tag one of your team mates back and they can try and tag the runners.

Kiwisport - Hockey Session
Today the year sevens had our hockey session. There were two coaches there. First we started off with a warm up game and we played octopus. After that we learned how to grip the ball, dribble the ball and juggle the ball. We played a game called traffic lights. When one of the coaches shouted green we had to move the ball around with our hockey sticks. When she shouted orange we had to dribble the ball side to side and when she shouted red we had to stop the ball. We continued playing and she added some more rules. When she said purple we had to walk backwards and dribble the ball. She also added a silver light and that is when we had to go extra fast. At the end we got split into two groups and had hockey matches. When one of the coaches called three, the first three people in the line had to run around the cones and got to start the match.

Touch Rugby
At Panmure Bridge School the year seven and eights students had kiwisport which was touch rugby. First we exercised a little bit by jogging and stretching. When we were finished that we had a game of ball rush, where four people had rugby balls and had to tag the runners with it. When everyone had a turn being in we had a game of real touch. We were put in to three groups. When we played we worked as team to get a try. Some of us learnt that if the dummy gets touched it is the other teams ball.

Touch Rugby
Today in the afternoon we had another session of touch with Trevor. To start us off we all practiced scooping the ball and placing it down like your scoring a try. After that we practiced placing the ball through our legs and the person has to pick it up and pass it back to you. When we finished that the boys and girls were split into to groups and played two different games. The first game that I played, was when we all had to stand in a circle and pass the ball clockwise. If you drop the ball you are out. The second game I played was when we had to stand in two lines. One line was the rats and the other side was the rabbits. If Trevor called rabbits, the rabbits had to run backwards and the rats had to try and catch them. The same thing happens if Trevor calls rats. I think that everyone had a good time and enjoyed learning new skills.

Kiwisport - Touch Rugby
For Kiwisport we have Touch Rugby for the first part of this term. Since it was raining we had Kiwisport was in the hall. When we got there the instructor introduced himself. His name was Trevor. To start us we had to get into four groups. We learnt how to tap the ball and how to plant it if you get touched. After we did that, in our group each person has to stand next to a cone and the person at the end has to run in between each person in your group. At the end we all played a game. We had to spreed out in a circle and had to pass the rugby balls to the person who is on the left side of you. If you drop the ball you have to sit down and that means you are put. Also if you throw a bad pass the person who threw it is out.
