Winter Learning Journey - Bonus Activity

For this activity I had to form my opinion about people fishing in Farewell Spit. I think that we should ban people from fishing in Farewell Spit. Many Hector's dolphins are dying each year by getting caught by large fishing nets. They can fish somewhere else where they are not near the Hector's dolphins. Since Hector's dolphins are endangered they can possibly become extinct.

  1. Hello AJ, you have done a great in the Winter Learning Journey. You reason is what I think should happen. The fishermen should just fish somewhere else. You are right AJ Hector's Dolphin can possible become extinct. You have done a fantastic job. Keep up the amazing work AJ!

  2. Hey AJ
Good job on this winter learning journey activity. I also think we should ban people from fishing in Farewell Spit. The Hector's dolphins are rare enough already without more of them getting killed. New Zealand is a island so there will be many other places to fish. Keep up the awesome work AJ!

  5. Hey AJ!

These are some really great reasons for not finishing in Farewell Spit! I totally agree with you, there are plenty of other good places for fisherman to fish. It's not worth risking the dolphin's lives when they could go somewhere else!

    Ka pai!
