Summer Learning Journey - Day 12 Activity 2

For this activity I had to tell what is my favourite television show at the moment. My favourite television show is probably The Amazing Race. I like The Amazing Race because the contestants travel around the world and learn about different cultures.

  5. Hi AJ,

What a cool choice of TV show! I love the Amazing Race. In fact, we actually had an 'Amazing Race-themed' birthday party for my son, Aronui's, first birthday party. We created a number of clues and everyone in the family formed teams and raced around Papakura (where we were living at the time), trying to be the first one back to complete the race. It took about 2 hours to finish the race and we had prizes for the winning team.

I still remember the birthday party like it was yesterday even though it was over 5 years ago! Do you have a favourite memory from the Amazing Race television show? Do you have a favourite team or favourite challenge? They certainly do a number of pretty amazing things, don't they? Some of the things that they do are just incredible. I can remember watching an episode where teams had to eat raw insects, cart gallons of water on the their head across the desert and learn an African dance. It was pretty intense!

What was the best episode that you've seen?

    Cheers,
    Rachel :)
