<span style="font-size: large;">This week for maths we have been working on geometry activities. I have taken a screenshot of one of the activities I have completed. For this activity there were two sheets. One with the instructions and the other one to draw. We had to follow the dots link each one up until it says stop on the instruction sheet. After we finished drawing we coloured it in.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Every week on Friday the year seven and eight students Panmure Bridge School would go down to Tamaki College for Tech. This year we had three rotations. For the year eights our rotations were (in order) cooking, graphics and hard materials. At cooking we learnt how to make lots of different foods like pies, quiches and chocolate truffles. Our teacher was Mrs Heka. In this rotation we learnt how to follow instructions. At graphics we learnt how to make clocks. I made a basketball clock. Our teacher was Ms Ferguson. At hard materials our teach was Mr Grundy. At that rotation we learnt how to make stained glass windows. I decided that my design was a rocket. In this rotation I learnt how to cut glass and tin it.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">On Friday Hazel visited Panmure Bridge School to tell us about the Summer Learning Journey program that is held during the Christmas holidays. The program contains lots of activities. It starts on the 18th of December and ends on the 26th of January. The top three bloggers from each school will be given a prize. It is great that the year eights are still allowed to participate even though they are going to college next year. The Summer Learning Journey is great for students because when they come back to school they will improve their learning.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Recently we had visit from a police helicopter and a police dog with it's handler. The whole school sit on the field waiting for the helicopter to land. I was really amazed when the helicopter landed because the wind from the helicopter was so powerful grass was flying everywhere. The officers who came out of the helicopter told us about their job and what they do. After the helicopter left we had some visits from a German Shepard. The German Shepard demonstrated how it uses its nose to help police officers.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Yesterday some students from Panmure bridge School went down to Lloyd Elsmore Park to participate in the inter-school athletics. The events I was participating in were 100 meter sprints, high jump and long jump. In the morning the boys were doing the track events and the girls were doing the field events. In my heat I came third. After that we had a break. My next event was long jump. I tried my best and managed to come first. The event after I participated in was high jump. We didn't get to finish it because most people had to do relays. I had a really great time and had a lot of fun.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Today Lyndon and I have completed our summarising DLO. For this activity we first read our book that we chose. Then we chose 20 important words from that book and wrote them down. We then chose the 6 most important word from the 20 words. After that we wrote a 25 word summary also including the 6 words we chose.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Yesterday Panmure Bridge School went down to Hoyts Cinemas at Sylvia Park for the annual Manaiakalani Film Festival. There we got to watch movies created by other schools in the Manaiakalani cluster. This year celebrates the 10th year the Manaiakalani Film Festival has happened. My favourite film was called I've Got a Bad Feeling About This which created by LS1 from our school. Here is a link to the films from this year.</span></div>

I used google presentation to create and share my learning. </span></span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">How Children Learn At School</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Children have lots of different way of learning. They are really curious. Learning is really important for children because it helps the gain knowledge. One way children learn is by asking questions. They also give feedback and ask for feed forward.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">When they ask for feed forward they get learn new things which could help them in different areas of learning. Children often watch role models and copy what they do.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">When children are unsure of what to do they either listen to others carefully or watch others do. They can also search it up on the internet.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">When children reflect about their learning they can see where they have gone wrong and what they have to improve on. They take risks to learn new things and get a new experience.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Children have lots of different ways to learn at school. They are really curious. Learning is a really important part of a children's time at school because it helps the gain knowledge and helps them build confidence in learning.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>For this task we were working in partners to write an explanation. I worked with Fatongia. We then showed another pair our explanation and they gave us feedback and feed forward. Our feedback wast that we have great ideas and our writing is well layed out. Our feed forward was that we should try not to repeat things.</b></span></div>

<span style="font-size: medium;">Last week Mrs Grant came to LS2 to teach us how to create a screencastify. For this we firstly had to write our scripts and make sure we had all the tabs we needed open. Next we clicked on the screencastify extension and clicked record. I had to make sure I was speaking loud and clear. I then listened to my recording to see if it was good. <span style="font-size: large;">Today the Panmure Bridge rugby teams went down to Dunkirk Reserve to participate in the inter-school rugby competition. Our first game was against Glen Taylor. We tried our best but unfortunately they won. After that we had a bye. During that time we were working on spreading out and communicating with each other. Our second match was against Glenbrae. This was a really close game we tried really hard but they won 17 to 10. Our third game was against Glen Innes School. That was our closes game yet. Sadly we lost. The score was 10 to 12. Our last game was against Tamaki Primary. As soon as the game started they scored a try. Through out the whole game they were scoring tries but we didn't give up. We all had a really fun time.</span></div>

There are two different modes of the ride, the very extreme and the less extreme. For the very extreme mode, the minimum height is 150 centimeters. For the less extreme mode the minimum height 130 centimeters. I that there are height restrictions because if you are to small or short there is a possibility that you will slip of your seat and fall which could badly hurt you or worse.</span></span></div>

<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">For Kiwi Can today, LS2 played three games: The objects game, hand soccer and 10 down. In the objects game, we had to use a hula hoop to act out different objects like a trashcan or a basketball hoop. For the second round, we had to use two pieces of paper to act out different objects like some tissues or a book. Hand soccer is basically soccer but instead of using your feet, you use your hands. 10 down is a game where you pass a ball to a teammate who taps the ball on the ground and passes it to another teammate. Once your team taps the ball on the ground 10 times, your team wins. The opposition has the same objective (Tap the ball on the ground 10 times). We all had a fun and amazing time.</span></span>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
