Bonus: During the ancient Olympic Games, men were allowed to compete in the events but women were not. In fact, women were often forbidden from even watching the games. In your opinion, is this a fair rule? Why or why not? On your blog please tell us what you think about this interesting rule.
I think that this is really unfair on women. It sounds like they were treated like slaves. I think men and women should have equal rights.
Hi Aj, I wish we could go back to the future and change the rule but its too late, lucky girls can compete in the Olympics now these days. Great Job.
ReplyDeleteHi Aj, I agree with you they were treated like worthless secondary humans. It was insane how they were even prohibited to even watch the games and Nesi you meant past right? Anyway good luck to all of you.
ReplyDeleteHi AJ,
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with you that the 'No Girls Allowed' rule wasn't fair. I believe that women have the same rights as men to compete in the Olympics and represent their respective countries. Fortunately, the modern day Olympic committee has changed the rules and invited both men and women to participate. I am so pleased!
I hope to have the chance to watch the male and female athletes from New Zealand compete in the upcoming Olympic games in Rio. Do you plan to watch any of the Rio games on TV?
Cheers, Rachel
Hi AJ,
ReplyDeleteI surely agree with your reason why it not fair for womens to join the Ancient Olympic Games. I think it's not fair as well. If you were a girl (pretend) and you didn't parcitipate in the Ancient Olympics Games how would you feel?
