Winter Learning Journey - Day 6 Activity 1

For this activity I had imagine that I have never been to New Zealand before and I was on the first waka (canoe) to arrive at Shag Point (one of five places in the South Island that Maori people settled. I then have to write a poem about what I would feel when I arrived.

Discovered new land that has never seen before,
I couldn't wait to get off my waka and explore.
As I went to go up and stand on the sand,
I had a wonderful view of this beautiful land.
I was so happy that we somewhere new to live,
we have this whole land to ourselves it is really massive.

  7. Kia Ora AJ!

This is a fabulous poem! It's clear that you would be very excited to discover a new country and be the first to get out of the waka and explore! I think I'd be a little bit nervous to get out of the waka, not knowing what might happen, but there's also so many new things to discover!

Wonderful wiring AJ! I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your blog :)
