We all had to talk with each other about our learning so that everyone knows what we have been learning about.

Our task was to write a 25 word summary about what the suffrage movement was about. To finish this task my group and I had to work collaboratively, talk with each other and ask questions. Why is it so important to keep oral story telling alive?

Today Daniel and I created a 25 word summary to answer the question: Why is it so important to keep oral story telling alive? For this task, we had to listen to some videos that gave answers to the question. The videos were spoken in Maori so we had to use subtitles. We had to work collaboratively with our partners to complete this task. Our summary had 26 words because it sounded better that way.

It’s important to teach younger generations about Maori storytelling to remember the past. It keeps the cultural and traditional stories alive so they won’t be forgotten.

Chunky Challenge Word Art

Today I have completed my reading activity. There are three parts to it. First we had to complete the Chunky Challenge presentation. This week the chunk was est. So I had to find words I already know that have est at the start, in the middle and at the end. After that I had to find words I don't know about that have est in it. The second part was where I had to write a simple, compound and complex sentence and there needed to be at least one est word in it. The last part is where I had to choose one out of four activities to do. I decided to make a word cloud using a site I know.

Online Reading Challenge

In Mrs Anderson's reading group, we had to play the three reading games that was on the reading tumble on our reading page. We had to take screenshots of each game and we had to explain what reading skills we were practicing. For the first game I had to read a story and when I finished, I had to answer questions that were about the story. On the second game I had to read a short story. Then I had to click on each person and they would say something. We had to choose what he said was text to text, text to self or text to world. On the final game I played, I also had to read a short story. Then when I finished I had predict what was going to happen next.

Pigeon Multi Modal

This term in Mrs Anderson's reading group we have been working on pigeons. Mrs Anderson tried a new way on showing work on our google site. It is called a multimodal page. On a multimodal page you can read information and listen to videos. I think that the multimodal page is easier than google slides because you have to keeping clicking on the arrow to go to the next slide.

Finding Information

These are screenshots of me playing a reading game called Trapped. To play this game the computer would ask me a question about reading and I need to slingshot a cushion into the right answer. When I get all the questions right my character would be free out of the tower.
