At Panmure Bridge School the year seven and eights students had kiwisport which was touch rugby. First we exercised a little bit by jogging and stretching. When we were finished that we had a game of ball rush, where four people had rugby balls and had to tag the runners with it. When everyone had a turn being in we had a game of real touch. We were put in to three groups. When we played we worked as team to get a try. Some of us learnt that if the dummy gets touched it is the other teams ball.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson, and Ms Kirkpatrick.

Touch Rugby
Today in the afternoon we had another session of touch with Trevor. To start us off we all practiced scooping the ball and placing it down like your scoring a try. After that we practiced placing the ball through our legs and the person has to pick it up and pass it back to you. When we finished that the boys and girls were split into to groups and played two different games. The first game that I played, was when we all had to stand in a circle and pass the ball clockwise. If you drop the ball you are out. The second game I played was when we had to stand in two lines. One line was the rats and the other side was the rabbits. If Trevor called rabbits, the rabbits had to run backwards and the rats had to try and catch them. The same thing happens if Trevor calls rats. I think that everyone had a good time and enjoyed learning new skills.
Cybersmart
This is my presentation that I have created about cybersmart. We had to type up the five main key words about the topic. I also added screenshots on what came up when I typed in the key words. I learnt that you have to put the main word at the beginning.
3D Sketching
Today at Tech the year sevens had 3D sketching with Miss Ferguson. She taught us different ways of drawing 3D shapes. One way is to trace off an isometric grid lines. She also coloured in the 3D shapes in different shades.

Tahuna Torea
For inquiry the year sevens have been working on the Bar Tailed Godwit. We learnt that it migrates from Alaska to New Zealand. We also talked about the Bar Tailed Godwits habitat Tahuna Torea. Tahuna Torea is a nature reserve. Dogs are banned from that area because it is a threat to the Bar Tailed Godwit.
How Do Birds Fly?
This term our inquiry topic is about flight so, the year sevens have been working on how do birds fly. We learnt about the different positions birds do before they are flying and while they are flying. I learnt that birds move their wings up, forward, down and repeat.
Maths Word Problems
My Narative
My Leap Of Faith
“I must get more confident if I want to be able to fly” I said to Mother Owl. “I know, but if you want to succeed you must keep on trying” she replied back. So I followed my mother's advice and kept on trying. “Well, here I go” I mumbled just before I lifted my feet. I leaped off the branch and started to flap my wings. It was super great feeling but just that moment, I felt myself falling down to the solid ground. I walked back to the branch with disappointment. “Mother I just can’t do it, I am probably going to fail again” I told her.
“You can’t fly straight away son, it takes time and I am sure you can fly when you are older” Mother Owl said to me.
“Ha ha, I knew you would fail like you usually do” Michael mocked me.
“You don’t need tease me because I can’t fly Michael and stop being a show off” I stood up for myself.
“Yes I do, so tell me when you do know how to fly, like you ever will and I might change my behaviour” he told me.
I felt gloomy and walked back to the branch.
“Don’t listen to that mean bully son” Mother Owl said to me.
“Walk away from them and don’t worry about what other people think” she added on. Her kind words cheered me up a little bit so I went for another attempt. “ Yes, yes i’m flying” I shouted with happiness. In my head I heard Michael’s voice and him mocking me. It kept on repeating. “ Ouch, who cares, Michaels is right I am never going to fly” I sadly said.
When I got back to the branch my mother saw that I felt bitter and knew what happened. “Hear me son, you should never give up on what you want to do and who cares about what Michael thinks, you just have to believe in yourself” she told me. “ You’re right mum, I need to believe in myself” I replied back. “Thank you for motivating me” I added on.
So here I go. “Yes, I am finally doing it, I am flying” I yelled at the top of my lungs. Michael heard and went to have a peek. I then landed on the ground next to Michael. “ So maybe I was wrong, and I shouldn't of judged you I am sorry” he said. “ Apology accepted” I responded From then on I just had to believe in myself and I knew that I can accomplish anything.

Smart Searching
Today Mrs Ogilvie came to our school today to talk about smart searching with the year eights and some year sevens. She made presentation and shared it with us. First she asked us what do we find hard about research. Some of us said that we don't get the information that we need and some of the facts are false. After that we were talking about key words. I learnt that you put the main word at the front. Then we went on some sites that were linked on the presentation. The sites we went on were called Kids Infobits and Britannica. We enjoyed our lesson with Mrs Ogilvie and learnt new things. For the people who didn't go they had to find someone who did go. The people who did go showed their partner the sites that we looked at.

Rhythm Interactive
Today we had a performance by Johnny and Lucy. They both played different beats and rhythms on the drum. The seniors had their session after the juniors. They both didn't talk that much because they said actions speak louder than words. Everyone had to copy Johnny and Lucy when they said so. We also sang a little bit. Everyone enjoyed the session and had fun.

Kiwisport - Touch Rugby
For Kiwisport we have Touch Rugby for the first part of this term. Since it was raining we had Kiwisport was in the hall. When we got there the instructor introduced himself. His name was Trevor. To start us we had to get into four groups. We learnt how to tap the ball and how to plant it if you get touched. After we did that, in our group each person has to stand next to a cone and the person at the end has to run in between each person in your group. At the end we all played a game. We had to spreed out in a circle and had to pass the rugby balls to the person who is on the left side of you. If you drop the ball you have to sit down and that means you are put. Also if you throw a bad pass the person who threw it is out.
Hydration In Schools
This is my DLO that I have created about with my partner Pote. In this DLO we talked about hydration, dehydration and water in schools. On this DLO we have used an image that is labeled for reused.

Year 7 Godwit/Kuaka Popplet
This term our inquiry focus was on the Bartailed Godwit but in Maori it is known as the Kuaka. The Yr7's have created a popplet together that tells informations about the appearance, habitat, Migration diet and what effects Godwit/Kuaka in different ways. We also added in some images and videos to give a clear picture of the special bird. Did you know that they have a 8-9 day non stop flight, this adds up to one whole week and one day which is a short period of time considering they are flying long distance. We look toward to learn more about the unique birds.
