Telling The Time
This is my drawing about telling the time. I had to make a time on my clock and I had to write what the time is.
My Clock
This is my clock I made at school. I had to fold my piece of paper super carefully because if fold it cricked I couldn't write my numbers down. I had to get a round container to trace around. Then I had to write down the number in vivid. After that I had to glue it on to a piece of cardboard and cut it out. I then had to decorated it. Then I had to cut out the cardboard and make my minute hand and my hour hand. I then had to put a split pin in the middle of my clock and it was done.

Manaiakalani Film Festival 2014
I couldn't wait today because it was the Manaiakalani film festival. It was the seventh Manaiakalani film festival. It was at Sylvia Park (Hoyts Cinemas). There are 12 schools that are in the Manaikalani. It is so fun because you get to watch short movies. Only 7 schools (including my school)were at Sylvia Park when our school went. My favourite movie was the science hunger games one because it is super funny. Here is a link to watch it.https://sites.google.com/a/ptengland.school.nz/film-festival-2011/view-films/2014

My Pentominoes Blog Post
Today and yesterday I did a grid puzzle with my buddy Daniel. We had to cut out the shapes and try and find out how to solve it. We had to turn over shapes and move them around. There were 5 squares on each shape. We wanted to fill out the whole grid so we did. This task was about thinking and moving things around. Me and Daniel were the first one to finish.

5 Questions That I Would Ask A Astronaut
5 questions that I would ask an astronaut
1.What kind of food do you eat in space?
I eat similar food that is on earth like fruit and yogurt.
2.How come there is no oxygen is space?
The gases are there because the earth keeps them there. The same is the case with other planets and stars and virtually all celestial bodies. The reason why there's no oxygen or any other gas in space is because there's nothing for it to hold on to.
3.How can you walk when you are on the moon becaause you could float of into outer space?
The moon has 1/6th the gravity of Earth. This means a 300 lbs man (such as an average astronaut with that heavy suit on) would only weigh 50 lbs. This also means that same man would be able to jump a height of 6 times normal, roughly a 15 foot vertical jump!
4.If you are in space for one year,is it the same on earth?
Time dilation explains why two working clocks will report different times after different accelerations. For example, ISS astronauts return from missions having aged slightly less than they would have been if they had remained on Earth, and GPS satellites work because they adjust for similar bending of spacetime to coordinate with systems on Earth.
5.What has been your favourite thing to experience when you were in space?
Going on the moon. It is super cool. You could see earth from up there.

Interschool Cross Country
Yesterday I went to Bailey Road school for the interschool cross country with the other people in my school who got a placing in the Cross Country. When I got there I saw a lot of schools. I felt really nervous because I saw other kids practising their running and they were fast. Miss Thomas showed are us the course where to run. It was very long. She told all of us that the year threes and fours had to run 1 time around the course. The year fives and sixes had to run 2 times and the year sevens and eights had had to run around the course 3 times. The year threes girls would start first and the year eight boys would start last. Nobody from our school was in the year three girls. When the year four boys started Joseph was coming second. All of them ran really fast. When they got back around Alex was coming third and Joseph was coming fourth. Joseph couldn't catch up to Alex and Alex came in Third pace. The races were going faster by the minute. After we had a brake it was the year 5 girls then the year five boys. It took us a couple of minutes until we could go. Finally we could go. A lot of the other year 5 boys sprinted. I was coming second to last then. The hardest part was where you go down a hill where there is rocks and when you go back up there is mud. I always slip in that area. It was a really hard course. On the second lap near the finishing line I had to stop during the race because I needed my inhaler. I came in last place. It was a really fun day and I wish I could go and run there again.

Why Do Houses Have Windows?
Why Do Houses Have Windows?
Every house in the world has windows if they are built properly. Windows are made for people to keep warm and to make sure you don’t get sick from the cold bad weather if there is.
If there was no windows it might get wet if it is raining.
I don’t like it when my things get wet because the windows are open. I wish that windows can just automatically close when it starts to really rain. I also don’t like when my mum tells me to go upstairs and close the windows.
If you house just had walls and no windows it would be really dark inside your house. You might not be able to see anything. Windows make sure that there is sun in house and so you could see.
Windows are made because you keep warm in your house and you don’t get cold. Windows make us healthy by keeping us warm too. Windows stop bringing the cold air into houses. Windows do a big job for us people who live in houses.
Make sure your house has windows and every house you live and sleep in. If there is no windows in a house, just call the people who built it and tell them that you need windows in house.

Netball
Yesterday was our last day of netball with Merrin, our netball teacher. She taught us how to do lots of things in netball like passing to the person that is free and how to shoot the ball. To shoot the ball you have to put one hand under the ball and the other hand on the side. Then you aim where you want the ball to go and then you shoot. My position in playing netball was goal defend.
I had a lot of fun playing netball and I hope I get to play it again.

Spooky Halloween
Today is a really big day. Its October the thirty first, Halloween!!! Rachael, Emily, Greg, Aaron and Dylan are friends. They are going to go trick treating together. They are going to every house on their street, but only Dylan and Aaron know that that the creepy house across the road is a really spooky because there is a terrifying man who guards the house. They both try to tell the others but they are too busy talking about Halloween and how much lollies they are going to get. They rushed to every house and got like about 20 lollies from each house. Finally they came to the old house and after they knocked on the door lightning struck. Everybody screamed and yelled but except for Dylan and Aaron because they knew what was going to happening next. A scary man appeared behind them. Aaron and Dylan told the rest to stop screaming and shouting and look behind them. The man started to chase them. While he was chasing them he was shouting “don’t come knocking on my door and get away from me”They all ran to Dylan's house and spied on the house. When Aaron and Dylan were young it happened to them to but they were the one that were not listening. Emily and Rachel went back home because they were too scared of the man. Dylan and Aaron fell asleep on the floor.
Greg went out on the driveway and tried to think how come he didn't want him and his friends near him so he went across the road and knocked on his door. Rachel and Emily came running back fast as a jet to Dylan’s house and woke him and Aaron up and told them that they saw a shadow that looked liked the man from the spooky house. Then suddenly they all realised that Greg wasn't there. They looked everywhere until Emily found him waiting by the scary house.
They shouted across the road and asked Greg why was he waiting by the house. Greg shouted back and said “ I want to ask him why he doesn't like us near him. After he shouted he heard a noise coming from the bush. The noise went louder and louder until Greg was face was shaking. It was the man. He came up to Greg and told him why are you coming near me again!!! He told him with a small tiny voice and said “ I want to ask you why you don’t like us near you.” He then said “ because my wife didn't like children because they did mean things to her like throw eggs at her and tease her.”Then Greg said “we wouldn't do that to you and your wife, we only wanted to get some lollies for Halloween. Then he said “sorry, I didn't mean to scare you.” Then he remembered that they didn't get lollies from him so he went to buy some and gave the lollies to them. After the kids got there lollies they enjoyed their treat at their home.

Trip To The Auckland Museum
Yesterday I went to the Auckland Museum with my class, room 8 and room 5. I felt really excited to go there because I was young when I last went there and It was really really cool and fun. We are going by bus but the bus wasn't there. It was running very late. Finally it came and we were on. I was on the second bus and I was siting on the back. It felt fun because I was high. When we got to the museum there where stairs. It looked like it was higher than the sky tower. I also saw another two schools there as well. First a man took us to a room with some more people and we all sat down on the mat. First they all introduced them. Then they showed some things to us like tapa cloth and the Paper Brown mulberry tree. She told us how there families migrated and what they brought with them. They said they brought there songs, culture and language.
After we had that session we went to another one. We followed a man and a lady to a map of the pacific. He told us there were 3 parts of the pacific. There are Micronesia, Melanesia and Polynesia. They also told us how they made boats back then and showed us what they were. They were not electric. The tools looked cool.
After they took our lesson we had lunch outside. Luckily I got a seat. We had a long lunch. I tried to eat all of my lunch. After lunch we could go where ever we wanted to. I was in a group with Sebastian's mum, Sebastian, Sylis, Navid and Rohullah. First we went up stairs to go to the volcano. When we got there we waited in line to go inside the volcano house. It wasn't long until the group inside came out. The T.V. was on and there was fake news. It was telling us about the volcano. On the T.V. I saw smoke coming out of the water and then. The house shook and the lights went out. The message was telling us to be prepared. One of my favorite part was going to Auckland in 1866 because there are lots of cool old things there. I saw an old bar there too. My other favorite part was seeing planes and old movies of them. We went looking around everywhere. We had to meet back at entrance at 2:00. It was super duper fun a

Duffy Theatre
Today I went to see the Duffy Theatre in the hall. There were two men and one woman. One guy was playing the guitar and making people laugh. It started and Duffy made a cape out of books and he wore a crown. It looked really cool. He is the king of books. Duffy and his friend Rosie are trying to make Duffy's uncle Bingo read but he says he don't do books. Duffy then had a big idea of putting all the things we like and shout it in to the book. He gave the book to uncle bingo but it didn't work. Rosie gave her ballerina book to uncle bingo before he went on his plane to Sydney. Then uncle bingo read the book and he liked it. Then when his games was on he was doing ballerina moves. My favourite part was when uncle Bingo said"you egg to Humpty Dumpty. It was really fun and I liked it really really much.

A Small Soccer Tournament
A Small Soccer tournament!!!
It was a beautiful sunny day and I decided to go to my friends house and play a small soccer tournament. I got my brother and my friend Paulo and we walked to my my other friend’s house. I was surprised that my friend Raymond wasn’t outside because I just saw him playing outside wearing his favourite colourful t-shirt but then I just saw his shoe and I went over to him and scared him. Then I asked if we can have a small soccer tournament and he said okay. We had to choose who we wanted to verse. I choose my brother but my brother choose Paulo. Raymond said I will be versing my brother and Paulo will verse Raymond. Me and my brother were playing first. You had to score 5 goals to win the match. My brother is not that good so I had an advantage. I had to score one more goal to win so I dribbled the ball and then I kicked the ball over my brothers head. My brother wasn’t even close to winning.
The score was 5-1. I was really really exhausted. When Raymond and Paulo versed Raymond was taking long to get a goal and I knew he was doing that on purpose. At the end of the game Raymond did a headbut to win the match. Raymond won 5-0. I was in the finals with Raymond. We choose my brother as third because he scored one goal and Paulo scored no goals. I was so surprised that I was in the finals. Me and Raymond said that the score will be up to 7. I was hoping I would beat Raymond. He always win against me in soccer. My brother and Paulo are the goalies. This will be super hard for me. In the middle of the game the score was 4-3. I was winning. but I knew that I might not win the match. Raymond did his tricks and he was catching up to me. When he was dribbling I sneakily stole the ball off him. I scored again. I could tell that Raymond had a plan. I tried to get the ball off him heaps of times but he was too good. I saw him get two more goals and then the score was 6-5. I was losing. I needed two more goals to win. Raymond kicked the ball and it bounced off my head inside the goal. Then I knew that I just did a headbut but Raymond wasn’t finished yet he kicked the ball really fast and hard. It went super fast as a lion. I tried to block it but it went through my legs. Raymond won the match. I didn’t really mind that I didn’t come first. I was proud of myself that I came second and not last. I had a really fun day today and I hope we will have another small soccer tournament.

My Art Reflection
In room 7 we have being doing art. We have been learning about a famous artist named Ton Schulten and how he paints. The colours we used were red, yellow, blue, black and white. We had to mix the colours to get what colour you want. You have to copy the photo and paint it the right colour. It will have different colours. Then you paint the same colour but it is a different shade of it. It will look colourful when finish. This is my art and it has different colours on it.
My Term 2 Reflection
In room 7 this term we have been busy working really hard on lots of different kinds of subjects.
One of my favourite subjects was doing soccer with Ben. Ben taught us how to dribble and he showed us some new skills. We had a mini soccer tournament. In one game I scored 2 goals. I won for my team when I scored the second goal. The score was 3-2. He also taught us how to work together and don't be selfish and keep the ball to yourself.
Music was another thing that I liked. There was super cool activities and you get to move around. One time we had to make our own moves and copy the shape of the pattern.
Mrs Eeles our music teacher gave us a drumtastic challenge. You had to chose a drum and find some facts about the drum. I finished my drumtastic challenge. I got a certificate for doing my drumtastic challenge.
